Among the causes advocated by ALDH is the case “U.S. Government v. Keppe and Pacheco,” which marks its 36th anniversary in June 2025.
The 1st International Congress on Conflict Management and Peace Justice took place on August 14–16, 2025, at Sala São Paulo, Brazil, bringing together national and international experts to discuss mediation, peaceful conflict resolution, and justice across social, legal, and community contexts.
ALDH – the Lusophone Human Rights Association – has as its purpose the defense of the values, culture, and rights of Portuguese-speaking peoples, who, in spirit and in practice, seek peaceful cooperation among all races and creeds.
In other words, this means a conscious and committed engagement in the areas most sensitive to the preservation of the planet as a whole, such as: abandoned children, mass unemployment, pockets of hunger and underdevelopment, ecological crimes, the irrational exploitation of natural resources, illiteracy, and access to health care—while also addressing the higher spiritual needs of the human being, no less essential to human health and happiness.
The Lusophone Human Rights Association was founded on June 1, 1998, in São Paulo, Brazil, during a formal plenary session held as part of the Interdisciplinary Forum on the Third Millennium and Universal Human Rights, at the Teotônio Vilela Hall of the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo. The session was presided over by the lawyers Dr. Luís M. de Sande Freire (Portugal) and Dr. Renato Simões (Brazil).
